About us
This web site was originally for pupils of the former pre-1968 Steyning Grammar School. It is the result of many years work by Roger Tilbury and George Barker, but sadly both have now passed away.
Consequently, we have created this web site to act as a public archive of all the material they gathered, accessible freely to those former pupils. The website contains a directory of those former pupils
who have agreed to be included, and which is only accessible to those pupils.
With the assistance of the Governors of the Steyning Grammar School Foundation we have now established an Archive in what was known as "Number 7, Church Street" or alternatively "Chatfields".
In addition to documents from the pre-1968 Grammar School, this contains many items from the pre-1968 Secondary Modern School and also the post-1968 Grammar School. We are now in the process of digitising
some of these douments and placing them on this website.

We are always keen to add to the content of the web site so if you have material that you think may be of interest please do let us know. We will arrange to scan the material and publish
it on the web site. Of course, if you have appropriate equipment, you may choose to scan the material yourself and send us digital copies.
